About Cyrus
I’m a creative design leader, cultural storyteller and founder-operator working at the intersection of sport, culture, product and place.
From October 2016 through July 2026, I spent nearly a decade at Nike shaping apparel graphics, uniforms and storytelling for the NBA, WNBA and NCAA. As the most senior designer on my team before my departure, I served as a day-to-day creative leader across an eight-designer group, helped junior designers navigate complex approval environments, contributed to hiring panels and worked across Nike, the NBA, franchises, estates and external partners to bring culturally meaningful ideas to market.
My work includes, but is not limited to, the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Prince City Edition, the Atlanta Hawks’ MLK City Edition, Kobe Bryant and Los Angeles Lakers storytelling, and the NBA’s 2026–27 Specter Edition. For Specter, I contributed to the overall creative direction and personally designed uniforms for the Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers.
The MLK program represents what I believe creative leadership should be. I raised the concern that a commercial product drawing value from Dr. King’s name and Atlanta’s history needed to create direct financial benefit for the community, not simply tell its story. I advocated across Nike, NBA and Hawks partners for community reinvestment, and the resulting program directed $100,000 from jersey sales to Atlanta’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative.
Today, I’m also the co-founder of Creative Homies and co-owner of Portland’s Horizon Enterprise Building, a 20,000-square-foot cultural and commercial destination. We helped raise $5 million to acquire and activate the property and now lead The Downbeat, Contrast Gallery and an expanding creative ecosystem.
I’m exploring Design Director, Creative Director and senior creative leadership opportunities where cultural fluency, world-class craft, team development and business impact matter.
